Hello aspiring musician

Not so long ago, Ashwin aspired to be an astronaut and Ashrith a gamer, sharing a common love for music, video games, technology alike. While Ashwin braved and took the unconventional path of dropping out of college to DJ at local pubs in Bangalore in the late 90’s. Ashrith was not too far behind to follow in suit with his brother, whilst he was using his tech wizardry to build computers and hack operating systems, it was in the summer of 2006 when they set sail together leaving behind a sea of no-regrets to purse music.

It was India’s evolution of electronic music when clubs stayed open all night and most DJs played on records, and a time when talent truly outshone popularity. Obscure parts of an excruciatingly slow internet were your only hopes of finding musical tidbits without any YouTube tutorial to teach you. You learned by assisting others artists and producers, mostly like an unpaid internship. With the advent of software based approaches, the fraternity started to grow, and slowly gave rise to the vibrant scene that we have today.

But with this easy way in, your sustainability is directly proportional to your quality of work (and in most cases popularity).

With all these ingrained experiences on a long path of musical discovery, filled with bad gigs, no gigs, great gigs and surprisingly great gigs, Audio Units honed in and refined their craft and sound. While helping other peers was always a fond interest for the brothers, they often shared tutorials online and taught impromptu classes in their bedroom studio around 2012.

The joy of sharing knowledge that also helped themselves learn better was the best fruition of this endeavour, which led them to found Beatworx Studio. Situated in one of the most unlikely places for a musical fraternity, their modest little studio that trained over 500 students, churned out over a 100 releases, was above a hospital! Shreyas, an alumni of theirs and a friend of Ashwin’s decided to quit his corporate job to surrender himself to music. These 3 pledged to put their heart and soul into what they love the most, to make it their life and help others that seek the same. This is the foundation Beatworx Studio is built upon. To help you envision your future with music and have you be the centre of it, encouraging you to work harder and get closer to your dreams.

We are a proud bunch of mostly self taught DJs, producers, engineers and most importantly artists, who depend on music for our passion and lively hood. We aim to prepare our students from diverging backgrounds for a successful career in the music industry by the means of

We’re backed up by over 100 pro audio brands including hardware and software manufactures, who send us their products from time to time for reviews and testing, we also often conduct workshops for upcoming brands to showcase their products directly to our students. The products we endorse and use in our daily studio necessities are the same, with a strong sense of artistic integrity over book profits, we don’t sell anything we don’t like to use.

Student Discipline

Students enrolling in Beatworx Studio assume an obligation to conduct themselves in a manner compatible with the function as an educational institution. As a result, reasonable policies, procedures, and regulations have been developed to guarantee each student’s freedom to learn.

Each student’s attitude and deportment must conform to standards inherently necessary to advance the educational process. Failure to observe these standards may result in a review of a student’s behaviour for appropriate determination. Such behaviour could be grounds for dismissal. Students who fail to comply with the regulations may be dismissed from the school with no reimbursement of fees.

• Support and encourage your batch mate as much as you can, you will after all be imbibing knowledge together and it makes the task a whole lot easier to have an encouraging partner.
• Stay focused while in class, it might seem like an obvious one but we all tend to drift off on another tangent from time to time or even get ahead of ourselves.
• Use friendly and respectful language to get your point across.
• Be welcoming of questions from your partner and do not interrupt the faculty or your batch mate while he’s asking a question.
• Do not belittle anyone from the music scene. Understand that we’re all equal and stay humble.
• Stay open to diverging artists and genres
• Understand that you are to practice everything that is thought here in the studio. The idea is to touch upon the concept and have you discover and divulge the same through practice.
• Use the equipment like it was your own. (Unless you treat your own equipment like mereobjects which don’t have feelings) and share the decks evenly during practice.
• Do not ever bog down a batch mate who does not seem to understand a concept, if you have simpler words that you think may help him understand the same, please feel free to pitch in.
• Carry out research on the core concepts you come across during the course and delve into it.
